A friend wrote..."When the senior managers I was working with hit Delhi airport many of them said, " Bloody civilization" ! A sad commentry on what we have made of our society."
We were given infinity and eternity
we reduced it to centimetres and seconds
Most of us scrambled to get our piece of action
before we passed on
Some of us fretted about what we leave behind
for our children and grandchildren
A few of us sought oases to taste the earth
as she was made
Fewer still mulled
... the creation of oases...

This is beautiful! Thank you!
Here, I would like to share this please:
In "A Letter to the Rulers of the People," Saint Francis of Assisi wrote:
Keep a clear eye toward life's end. Do not forget your purpose and destiny as God's creature. What you are in his sight is what you are and nothing more. Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received - fading symbols of honor, trappings of power - but only what you have given: a full heart enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage.
Service is a way out of the gloom so many of us experience at work and in life. When we take our eyes off ourselves, when we work to do good for others, when we use the difficulties that come our way to make a difference in the world, we create a deeper sense of meaning in our lives. Our jobs become more rewarding, our relationships grow stronger, and our organizations become more unified."
And as Wayne W Dyer says: "Life is about making a difference in the world. We show up, we have this parenthesis in eternity that we call "our life," and the measure of that is not what we accumulate or what we get for ourselves, it's in what we give. I think everybody in the world wants to make a difference. They want to know that their presence on this planet made a difference.
For me, it's about giving, and it's about loving, and it's about serving, and it's what we're here for, to learn that lesson."
Thanks and regards,
